Loveshhuda – Movie Review

Love is complicated... But it's worth it!

Loveshhuda, movie review

A fresh, young take on romance, ex – Miss India World 2013 Navneet Dhillon debuts with Girish Kumar in Loveshhuda.

This rom-com has been shot in exotic locations in London and Mauritius .

An unconventional romantic story that starts in bed, it is about a man who wakes up one morning with a girl whom he does not know. While he gradually falls in love with her, he must choose between love and practicality.

Gaurav (Girish Kumar) is to get married and his friends come up with the idea of a bachelor’s night out and they indulge in the wildest of their behaviours which leads Gaurav to realise the next morning that he was in bed with an unknown girl Pooja (Navneet Kaur Dhillon). Pooja misplaces her top and departs with the shirt (gifted by the groom’s mother-in-law) Gaurav hands over to her.

With the lead characters’ love-hate banter growing even as their chemistry is apparent, whether their bond, which begins in bed, ends as friendship and a life-long relationship.

Loveshhuda has no villain. The villain is circumstances in one’s life. The film tells us that we are our own enemy and incidentally we take certain decisions which have other repercussions leading a person away from being happy.

This unconventional romance takes us through the lead actor’s journey of bachelorhood and how he faces a conflict between practicality and true love. Thriving on music, friendship and humour, the film is a take on modern-day relationships as the protagonists explore various hurdles through a fun ride.

The chemistry between Girish and Navneet is evident, yet the lead pair has a long journey ahead. Okay, Girish has a chiselled physique and Navneet is styled well enough, yet they need to put in hard work as far as acting goes particularly in emotional moments.

Tisca Chopra as the dominating sister and Sachin Khedekar as Pooja’s father are the only ones appearing realistic.
